Basketballghana.com can confirm Ghana Center Amida Brimah will compete in the next phase of the FIBA Basketball Champions League after securing progression to the knockout stage of the continental championship.
Oostende beat French side Strasbourg 92-91 in the final game in Group F with Brimah registering 17 points, eight rebounds and three blocks in 21:36 minutes. (Click highlighted text to watch game highlights)
The win was Oostende’s third in six outings in the group securing a third place finish for the team behind leaders Tofas from Turkey and Strasbourg.
Oostende needed to beat Strasbourg by at least six points to secure second place and secure home court in the Play In Series early next year.
However, grabbing the one point win means Oostende will compete in the Play In Series without home court advantage. The team is scheduled to play against the number two ranked team in Group E.
Group E’s final standings are to be determined on Wednesday, December 29; PAOK, Nymburg and Igokea are battling for second place in the group.
