Basketballghana.com can report Denu Coasters Basketball Club has emerged as winners of the Adonai Osagyefo Basketball Championship held in Ghana’s Volta Region.
The one day program organized by the Kyekyeku Basketball Academy and Swiss Sports FM recently had 10 teams drafted from communities in the Volta Region. Adonai Estate was the headline sponsor of the tournament.
Ghana’s leading Basketball portal can also report teams outside the Volta Region participated in the tournament. Chiefs Basketball Academy represented the Ashanti Region and Buem Warriors represented the Oti Region in the competition.
Coasters beat Aftown Flames 29-22 in the final game to lift the trophy; Aftown represented Aflao in the competition with Wolves representing Ho losing 20-30 to Akpini Snippets from Kpando in the bronze medal game.
The competition represents efforts by individuals and clubs in the region to maintain basketball related activities in the region. The likes of Mawuvi Basketball Fellowship, War Eagles, H City Ballers and Kyekyeku Basketball Academy Bruins also competed in the tournament.
The Adonai Osagyefo Tournament was played out after the Ghana Basketball Association signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Lithuanian Basketball Federation.
