Basketballghana.com can confirm three more teams have secured qualification to the 2022 Basketball Africa League (BAL) bringing the number of qualified teams to 11.
One more spot remain to be filled and is set to be battled for by South Africa’sCape Town City Tigers and Burundi’s New Star at a yet to be determined date.
This comes in the aftermath of Cameroon’s FAP, Guinea’s SLAC and DR Congo’s Espoir Fukash progressing from the BAL West Division.
FAP competed in the 2021 edition that doubled as the maiden edition of the FIBA Africa-NBA competition and topped the West Divisional games.
SLAC qualified as Division runners up while Espoir Fukash secured the final slot to play in the tournament that runs from March 5 to May 28 next year with games slated to take place in Dakar, Cairo and Kigali.
Zamalek are the defending champions and is one of six automatic qualified teams to the tournament.
