Newly appointed NBA Africa Nigeria Office Head Gbemisola Abudu has stated her appointment is the opportunity of a lifetime and the culmination of her experiences as an administrator.

She made the statement in an exclusive interview with NBA.com in the aftermath of her appointment to head the NBA’s operations in the West African nation.

The World’s best and most popular basketball league has its Africa Headquarters situated in Johannesburg, South Africa and the Nigerian branch is the league’s third office in Africa.

“Joining NBA Africa as the Vice President & Country Head of Nigeria and opening the league’s office here is the opportunity of a lifetime and the culmination of all my experiences to date. As a lifelong basketball fan and Nigeria native, I look forward to working with the NBA Africa team to help build a more comprehensive basketball ecosystem in the country and to using the transformative power of sport to impact lives in Nigeria and beyond” she said.

Abudu has a bachelor’s degree in marketing and public relations from the University of Wyoming, an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale, Arizona and has worked with Louis Vuitton and The Walt Disney Company.
