Basketballghana.com can confirm the enstoolment and coronation of Accra Technical University’s (ATU) Head of Sports and Recreation Department, Princeworth Kwaku Darteh Anane-Asare as Adontenhene of Asante Mampong Akrofoso, is scheduled to take place on Saturday, December 11.
The ceremony commences at 10:00 GMT at Asante Mampong-Akrofoso in Ghana’s Ashanti Region this weekend; the occasion is expected to be laden with rich traditional activities and guests are to be dressed in an all black attire for the Swearing In Ceremony and a black and white attire for the Thanksgiving Ceremony respectively.
Under the leadership of Anane-Asare, Accra Technical University has dominated the Ghana Tertiary Universities Sports Association (GHATUSA) Games especially Men’s and Women’s Basketball competitions with multiple gold medal wins to show for.
ATU’s Men’s Team has won the prestigious Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship title twice including the 2015 Trophy.
Veteran Administrator Anane-Asare doubles as the Technical Committee Chairman of GHATUSA and played a key role to lift the ban on Ghanaian middle distance runner Martha Bissah earlier this year.
