The Rockets currently are battling for the worst record in the NBA, but they had an endearing moment Monday night, then the NBA took it away.

In a 102-89 win over the Thunder, teammates conspired to help Kevin Porter Jr., get his 10th rebound in garbage time so he could record the first triple-double of his career. The final rebound ended up being a funny play with Alperen Sengun tipping a rebound in Porter’s direction, who let it bounce a couple times before finally realizing the situation and grabbing it as his teammates cheered him on. A day later, the NBA reviewed the film and decided to strip Porter of that last rebound and give it to Sengun as a controlled tip.

Porter and the Rockets are playing much better lately and the 21-year-old nearly had a triple-double in last week’s win over the Hornets, finishing with 23 points, 12 assists and eight rebounds, so he’ll likely reach the milestone in due time, but the NBA could have let him have this one.
