There are two major changes in the upcoming end of year basketball competition from Award winning sports events promotion company RITE Sports later in December.
For starters, the celebrated Sprite Ball Championship is now the Sprite Ball Xpressions due to the addition of music to the core activities about the program. The addition of music is in recognition of the brand Sprite interest in not just sports but music too.
The other major change for the 2021 Sprite Ball Xpressions is that young players won’t compete to represent their High Schools like previous editions but compete to represent regions.
Six regions-Western, Central, Greater Accra, Ashanti, Eastern, Volta-have been earmarked to present teams for the national competition on December 24 at the Aviation Social Center in Ghana’s capital, Accra.
RITE Sports CEO, Yaw Sakyi Afari elaborated on the new development at the official launch stating, “This year’s edition would have a slight change. Instead of the teams you see at the final playing for their (High) Schools, this year (emphasis on THIS YEAR) we are going to have teams playing for the regions. These regional teams will comprise students who are in school or just graduated this year.” (Click highlighted text to watch full interview)
