In the basketball competition, young male players form four teams representing communities and the top players in the regional qualifiers are picked to represent the region at the national stage.

Six teams will represent six regions-Western, Eastern, Central, Ashanti, Greater Accra and Volta. This year players compete along regional lines instead of High School lines.

In the Music competition, High School Students upload a 45 second video to Twitter and Instagram showing off their singing and rapping skills with the hashtag #SpriteBall21. Select Judges pick the best contestants for the second round where qualified contestants upload a 60 second video for fans to vote.
