Italian Small Forward/ Shooting Guard of Ghanaian descent Awudu Abass has stated what motivates him to train harder in an extensive interview with Italian outlet NRW.

He pointed to his omission from the Italian Team that competed at the Olympics and an ACL tear he suffered as the reason he trains hard to make a comeback.

“Playing at the Olympics was one of my goals and it is normal I felt bad about it but both that event and injury after a couple of months only gave me a further boost to train everyday better, become stronger and reach the top of my career by winning again with Virtus Bologna” he said.

Abass won his second Serie A title and Super Cup in his first season with Bologna but suffered an ACL tear that ruled him out of this season.
