Basketballghana.com can confirm US Virgin Islands Guard Walter Hodge Jnr. has been named the 2021 BSN playoffs Finals Most Valuable Player after leading Capitanes Arecibo to the BSN League title in Puerto Rico. (Click highlighted text to watch highlights)
Arecibo beat Ghana Center Amida Brimah’s Mets de Guaynabo 88-68 in Game 6 of the finals to clinch the team’s eight league title. Brimah registered 11 points, eight rebounds and six blocks in the loss.
Hodge Jnr. averaged 22.2 points, 1.2 steals and 6.8 assists in six games in the finals series while Brimah-Mets best player in the finals-averaged 12.5 points, series leading five blocks and 8.7 rebounds in six games.
This is the latest title for Hodge Jnr. on an individual level and team level; the Point Guard won the Basketball Africa League title with Zamalek and won the Tournament’s MVP award.
On Wednesday, November 17, Hodge Jnr. scored 27 points to lead Capitanes to its eighth title in Puerto Rico’s top basketball league. Brimah was in the hunt for his second league title since turning pro in 2018.
