2021 Accra Basketball League Champions (ABL) Women’s Division Champions Ghana Police Service Coach David Sasu has strongly indicated the team would look to bring in new faces to beef up the team for the 2022 season.
He said this in an interview with Basketballghana.com after guiding Police to win the Mathias Ocloo for the third time in a row; Police beat Reformers of Prisons 2-1 in the playoff finals to win the 2021 title.
Despite the win and mounting a strong comeback to wrestle the series away from Prisons, the top heavy Police team had to lean more on its Big Three of Sadat Balkisu, Zenabu Mohammed and Georgina Ntow throughout the season.
Addressing the situation, Sasu stated, “The Sports Director and Administration has promised that come next year they are going to strengthen the team for us. They know we are ageing…so come next year, our Inspector General has promised the team that he will strengthen the team for us.”
Police beat Prisons 52-30 in Game 3 to clinch the finals series.
