A win in Game 2 against Ghana Police Service would have sealed Reformers of Prisons place as champions of the 2021 Accra Basketball League (ABL) Women’s Division.
However, Reformers lost 39-47 to Police in Game 2 played on Thursday, November 11 at the Prisons Court in Cantonments. Game 3 is on Saturday, November 13 at the same venue.
Police had a brilliant run in the third quarter as the team extended its 24-20 half time lead to 40-26 heading to the fourth quarter.
It so happened, Police’s brilliant run came as Reformers experienced its worse mainly due to the team’s failure to capitalize on its taller front court players and second unit.
The likes of Ezequeen Dadzie and Christabel Edem gave solid production inside the paint on post plays but had very few chances to do so as Prisons elected to shoot several three point shots and long jump shots that missed.
In Game One, Prisons second unit took advantage of Police’s thin roster to generate key production by getting key Police starters like Balkisu Sadat to foul out and Georgina Ntow to play cautiously to avoid falling fouling out too.
Game 3’s winner is likely to be the team that makes the key adjustments on Saturday.
