Outrebounding Arecibo powered Mets to the win to trail 1-2 in the series heading into Game 4 on Saturday, November 13 in its Mario Morales home venue.
Ghana Center Amida Brimah was at the heart of Mets superior rebounding game as the 6 foot 10 inch defender recorded 11 rebounds with five coming on the offensive end.
He added 12 points, an assist and a game leading six blocks to his production in 31:41 minutes as a starter; teammate Renaldo Balkman registered 12 rebounds and 13 points.
As a team, Mets had 49 rebounds against 33 from Capitanes; Guaynabo Guard Justin Dentmon led all Mets in scoring with 22 points, eight assists and six rebounds.
Capitanes Walter Hodge Jnr. and David Huertas scored 24 points apiece to lead the scoring category; Hodge Jnr. won the Most Valuable Player Award at the Basketball Africa League.
Amida scored six of seven field goal attempts but missed his sole free throw attempt.
