Defending Accra Basketball League (ABL) Women’s Division and Men’s Division I Champions, Ghana Police Service and Braves of Customs, had a poor outing in the opening game of their respective league finals playoff series.
In Game One of the best of three game series, Police lost 56-68 and Braves lost 58-76 with both losses coming against Reformers of Prisons at the Prisons Court in Cantonments. (Click Highlighted text to read game report)
However, Game 2 looks set to be quite different as both defending champions with a heavy veteran presence, hope to utilize the extended break that showed up abruptly on the schedule to their favour.
Police-Reformers Game 2 was to be played out on Thursday, November 4 while Reformers-Braves was to take place on Friday, November 5 before the ABL was forced to reschedule the games due to an issue with the Prisons facility.
The extra week between games brought on by the playoff schedule gives the veteran roster of the defending champs more time to recover and game plan better for Game 2. Issues connected to rest shouldn’t be a problem for Reformers who have an excellent mix of young players and vets.
