In the aftermath of winning its second Accra Basketball League (ABL) Women’s Division title in a row, Ghana Police Service Coach Chief Inspector Antwi made a bold prediction that could end up going bust.
In the 2019 Season, Police emerged victorious in the Finals thanks to securing two straight wins over Braves of Customs at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu. Police recorded a 48-45 win and an 80-59 win to clinch the title.
Speaking to Basketballghana.com after the big win over Braves on November 16, 2019, Chief Inspector Antwi indicated the Police Women’s team aims at winning five league titles consecutively. (Click highlighted text to read story)
However, that prediction could end up not becoming reality as Police trails Reformers of Prisons heading to Game 2 of the best of three game series. Game 2 tips off at 15:00 GMT on Thursday, November 11 at the Prisons Court in Cantonments.
Police lost 56-68 to Prisons in Game One and another loss would have Prisons usurp Police to the title; to win Game 2 and force a third game, Police would need more production from its bench than it got in Game 2. (Click highlighted text to read story)
