Six teams will compete in the Waterpark Sports Invitational (WPSI) Basketball Tournament in December Basketballghana.com can confirm despite the change of teams in the lead up to the three day competition.
Juniour Reformers Basketball Club has been replaced by DUNKS in the maiden edition of the tournament that seeks to highlight basketball academies in Accra with an eye on adding teams outside the city in the future.
The WPSI is slated to run from December 20 to December 22 at the DUNKS Basketball Court in Jamestown in Ghana’s capital, Accra.
The competition eligible to only players under age 25, has four time UPAC Champions University of Ghana (UG) leading the way with a handful of teams that competed in the Accra Basketball Men’s Division II 2021 season.
Aside Ghana’s premier University, Basketball School Academy, DUNKS, Galaxy Basketball Academy, Cedar Oak Basketball Academy and Charms Basketball Academy are due to compete in the first edition of the WPSI.
Leading Ghanaian sports apparel company Waterpark Sports is organizing the tournament.
