Basketballghana.com can confirm Ghana Center Amida Brimah has been named Player of the Night on the back of his impressive display in Mets de Guaynabo’s series clinching win in the 2021 BSN Basketball Playoffs.
Brimah led Guaynabo to an 84-81 win over Vaqueros Bayamon in Game 6 of the playoffs and seal Mets progression to the Final with a 4-2 series win. Guaynabo is due to play Capitanes Arecibo in the final with Game One slated for Saturday, November 6.
Former Indiana Pacers man Brimah dropped a double double in the win by registering 16 points and 19 rebounds plus an assist, a steal, and a block while turning the ball over just once in 40 minutes.
With the win, Guaynabo will compete in Puerto Rico’s top flight basketball league competition for the first time in 28 years. (Click highlighted text to read story)
Amida had the most rebounds in the game with five of them coming on the offensive end to lead that category too. He scored six of eight field goal attempts for a 75% rating and scored all four free throw attempts.
This is the second time Brimah has been the best player in the series; his first came in an 82-71 win in Game 3 where he registered 11 points, 14 rebounds and five blocks. (Click highlighted text to read story)
