Basketballghana.com can confirm American Power Forward/Center of Ghanaian descent Selom Mawugbe has been added to Santa Cruz Warriors roster for the upcoming NBA Gatorade League (G League) Season.
Santa Cruz is the G League affiliate side of NBA side Golden State Warriors and it marks Mawugbe’s second year run with the team after competing in the COVID 19 hit 2020-2021 season that was played out in a bubble.
In 12 games last season, Mawugbe averaged 5.3 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.5 blocks in 19 minutes off the bench as he started none of the 12 games he was involved in. (Click highlighted text to watch highlights)
Santa Cruz used its returning rights clause to bring back the 6 foot 10 inch Mawugbe who went undrafted in the 2020 NBA Draft after graduating from Azusa Pacific University with a degree in Biology.
He is the tallest player on Santa Cruz’s roster and the only listed Center on the team boosting his chances of playing a starring role in the 2021-2022 season. (Click highlighted text to view full roster)
The new season tips off on November 5 with the Showcase Cup that is scheduled to end on December 22 with the rest of the season to commence immediately after and expected to conclude on April 2.
