Tudu Galaxy and TUSK Foundation played out a very competitive game to open the 2021 Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division II Playoffs at the Prisons Court in Cantonments on Tuesday, October 26.
Galaxy lost 50-56 to TUSK in the three way battle for the division crown alongside Ghana Navy; Galaxy plays Navy on Thursday, October 28 at 17:00 GMT at the same venue. (Click highlighted text to read match report)
TUSK led through all quarters in the win but Galaxy will rue the missed opportunities it had in the third quarter especially to turn the tie around when the team was on a big run.
Galaxy headed to the fourth quarter trailing 34-40 and its failure to bury several layup attempts to close the gap and perhaps take the lead ended up costing them a win via the same point margin
Point Guard Raymond Affram, Forward Mubarak Mohammed and Divine Quartey were guilty of missing easy looks at the rim. TUSK’s Gustav Asiedu and Benjamin Ashitei scored big shots late in the game to pick the win.
Galaxy needs to beat Navy on Thursday to stay in the hunt for the division’s crown.
