Basketballghana.com can confirm Mets de Guaynabo has qualified to compete in the BSN Playoffs semifinal against Vaqueros Bayamon in Puerto Rico’s top flight basketball league.
Guaynabo sealed qualification via an 83-80 win over Leones de Ponce in Game 6 earlier today with Ghana’s Amida Brimah producing a dominant defensive performance in Mets win.
The 6 foot 10 inch Brimah produced 15 points, 10 rebounds and six blocks; he led the game in the rebounds and blocks categories on his return after missing Game 5 through suspension.
Mets qualified via a 4-2 series win while its opponent later this week in the semifinals progressed via a 4-1 series win over Piratas. Capitanes play Cariduros in the other semifinals series.
This is Brimah’s first run in the BSN League after joining Mets midway through the season after his release from Indiana Pacers in the NBA.
Prior to Game 6, the 27 year old was averaging 9.8 points and 5.3 rebounds in four games in the playoffs.
