The 2021 Accra Basketball League (ABL) Playoffs are due to commence on Tuesday, October 26 at the Prisons Court in Cantonments and Accra Basketball League (ABL) Director Alex Kukula has opined he hopes the controversial matter involving Ghana Army and TUSK Foundation is resolved before the postseason games start.
He said this in an interview with Basketballghana.com as the buildup continues to the eagerly anticipated games. In the late section of the Regular Season, TUSK and Ghana Army allegedly got involved in a brawl after a Men’s Division II game ended in a 61-59 win for TUSK. (Click highlighted text to read story)
Both parties have shared their version of the reported incident and the issue is before the ABL Disciplinary Committee. When asked for updates on the issue, Kukula said: (Click highlighted text to read story)
“Hopefully we get it done before the playoffs start because we’ve sat on it, letters have gone out so we give them the chance to respond then we have physical meetings with the , they will face the Disciplinary Committee and hopefully we get it done.”
The reported incident drew widespread condemnation from Ghana’s basketball fraternity and beyond.
