Ghana Basketball Association (GBBA) Presidential Hopeful Ato Van-Ess has outlined the time frame for his team to get the long awaited national basketball league up and running should he be voted President of the Association.
The GBBA elections are scheduled for Saturday, October 30 at the Accra Sports Stadium in Ghana’s capital, Accra; Van-Ess is up against Dr. Andre Kwasi-Kumah in the race for the Presidency.
Former Western Regional Basketball Association (WBA) Chairman Van-Ess made this bold pronouncement when Ghana’s biggest basketball portal contacted him little under a fortnight before the elections.
“January to June we want to start the national league where all the constituents are going to play in the league from their various constituents and regions because we want to finish that by June and come up with a national team and prepare for other international tournaments so that is the first thing that we will be doing” he said.
Accra Basketball League Director Alex Kukula is on Team Van-Ess as Aspirant for the Vice President (Finance and Administration) seat.
