Basketballghana.com gathers members of Nigeria’s Women’s National Basketball Team (D’Tigress) have hit out at the nation’s government and basketball federation.

This comes on the back of Nigeria winning its second Women’s AfroBasket title in a row and its second consecutive trip to the Olympic Games.

Point Guard Promise Amukamara stated, “Our allowances, stipends, bonuses, Chinese grants, and donations made by banks for players, officials, and volunteers, have still not been paid”.

Forward Ify Ibekwe further broke down the amount owed the team after it title winning run in Cameroon stating, “we are owed $73,118 from the NBBF $24,000 from the ministry for the Tokyo grant and $100,000 from donations from three banks in Nigeria.”

Other members of the team also voiced their concerns on Twitter about the treatment from the government bodies including the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF).
