The 28 year old player suffered a knee injury that has been ruled as an ACL tear that will rule him out of action for an extended period. He suffered the injury two minutes into his 2021-2022 Italian Basketball League season debut against Trento.

After joining Virtus Bologna last season, Abass helped the team win the league title and recently scooped the Super Cup title mere days prior to the start of the new season.

“I wanted to focus on myself to get to this second season in the Virtus jersey more ready, more energized and in general as a better player than the year before then this happened. Little remains to be said;…lets look ahead and support the regazz all together” he wrote on his instagram page. (Click highlighted text to view instagram story)
