Ghana Air Force Women’s Basketball Team has clinched a 45-33 win over Ghana Navy in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Women’s Division.
The game was played out earlier today at the Prisons Court in Cantonments in Accra as one of two matchups in the division. Prior to the game, Braves of Customs hammered Ghana Army 60-22.

Grace Yinamyah scored two three pointers with Memuna Mumuni scoring one of two free throws to give Air Force a 7-3 lead midway through the first quarter.
Navy got points on the board from the free throw line. Naa Shorme scored a three pointer and assisted Harriet Kunie for a layup to give Air Force a 13-3 first quarter lead.
Yinamyah drained a three pointer and set up Mumuni to score a layup on the fast break; Mumuni drained a three pointer to give Air Force 21-5 lead. Juliana Cudjoe, Victoria Cobbah and Rebecca Tetteh combined for four points from the charity stripe for Navy.
Veronica Kusi-Appiah completed a three point play; Yinamyah scored a free throw to give Air Force a 23-12 first half lead.
Naa Dedei Tagoe and Kusi-Appiah traded baskets to open the quarter. Delories Aziks scored to reduce the deficit to eight (17-25). Yinamyah and Mumuni scored to end Navy’s run but the latter missed a handful of layups on the fast break. Magdalene Fiamekor scored four points to close the third quarter as Air Force led 35-18.
Cobbah scored early in the final quarter. Kunie scored off a beautiful spin off move inside the paint after going up against the taller Aziks. Aziks responded in the immediate possession by scoring a short jumper. Cynthia Sosavi completed a four point play as Navy trailed 28-37 with 5:15 minutes remaining.
Fiamekor drained a three pointer to cushion Air Force’s lead. Mavis Dorla and Kunie traded baskets. Margaret Antoh scored for Navy in the closing moments.
