Ghana born French International Shooting Guard Yakuba Ouattara put in a decent performance on the defensive side to aid his team clinch a tough win to open the 2021-2022 French Pro A Regular Season.
AS Monaco beat Roanne 80-75 with Ouattara’s nine point, a steal, an assist, a block and a rebound performance in 30 minutes as a starter helping Monaco en route to the win.
The veteran Guard started the game and had a below average shooting performance as he converted a trio of seven three point shot attempts. He missed the sole two point shot he attempted.
The win comes on the back of Monaco securing a 75-63 win over Panathinaikos in the EuroLeague Basketball Championship mere days prior to the domestic league encounter.
Beating Roanne marked Ouattara’s return to the French top flight after playing out the 2020-2021 season in Spain with Coosur Real Betis.
Teammates Rob Gray and Danilo Andjusic scored 21 and 11 points respectively with Ouattara tying Lee Paris as the third top scorers for Monaco.
Monaco plays Levallois on Tuesday, October 5.
