Fire (white) v UG

Ghana Fire Service has beaten University of Ghana (UG) 35-22 in a 2021 Accra Basketball League (ABL) Women’s Division matchup in both teams latest outing in the Regular Season.

Fire Service leaned heavily on its bench to see off a UG team that faded away in the final quarter after making a promising start in the contest. The game was played at the Prisons Court in Cantonments in Accra earlier today.

Fire Service trailed 9-13 at the end of the first quarter but took the third quarter lead via a 21-17 result when the team turned to its bench that had main threat Carlen Adjei rested throughout the first half.

Fire Service went on an 8-0 run to take a 29-17 lead with 4:49 minutes left with Rejoice Teiko scoring six points and Carlen Adjei adding two points on the back of assisting two of Teiko’s shots.

UG’s went on a strong 5-0 run to end its scoring drought and close the gap to seven points (22-29) with 55 seconds remaining. Adjei connected with back to back three pointers from the corner to give Fire the 13 point win.
