Basketballghana.com can confirm Forward JaKarr Sampson has signed a deal to play for Virtus Bologna in the 2021-2022 season in Italy and the EuroCup.
Sampson is coming off a two year run with Indiana Pacers in the NBA where he played alongside Ghana Center Amida Brimah; both players played at Fort Wayne Mad Ants in the NBA Gatorade League.
Brimah left Indiana a month ago and is with Mets De Guaynabo in the BSN League in Puerto Rico and has been in fine form since signing for the team. In six games, the 6 foot 10 defender is averaging 13.8 points and eight rebounds in 23:57 minutes.
Sampson has played for Chicago Bulls, Denver Nuggets, Sacramento Kings and Philadelphia Sixers in the NBA aside playing for Indiana in his career.
By signing for 2020-2021 Italian Serie A Basketball Champions Bologna, 6 foot 7 inch Sampson teams up with Ghanaian-Italian international Forward/ Shooting Guard Awudu Abass.
Abass is in his second season with Virtus Bologna after averaging 6.0 points and 2.9 rebounds in 17.5 minutes across 36 games.
