Ahead of competing in his 12th season as a professional basketball player in the Italian Serie A Men’s Basketball League, Ghanaian-Italian International Small Forward and Shooting Guard Awudu Abass has described the experience as a pleasurable one.

Abass in on Virtus Bologna’s roster that is set to play tonight at 18:45 GMT against Trento in the opening round of games in the 2021-2022 season.

Bologna won the Italian Super Cup this past week after winning the 2020-2021 League title with both trophies coming via wins over Olimpia Milano.

Speaking to PianetaBasket, Abass was grateful for the opportunity and expressed excitement about the upcoming season he has described as complicated and difficult. (Click highlighted text to read story)

“It’s been a pleasure to play in Serie A for many years, I’m excited and happy with this new group, the new coach and the new system” he said.

Bologna has appointed Spain National Team Coach Sergio Scariolo as Head Coach for the new campaign; Scariolo has won three EuroBasket titles and a Silver Medal at the Olympics with Spain.

Abass made his league debut with Cantu just after turning 18 and has played for Milano and Brescia in his career. He has won two league titles and four Super Cup titles.
