TUSK v Reformers (pink) in ABL matchup

TUSK Foundation has recorded a 70-54 win over Juniour Reformers Basketball Club in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division II Regular Season game.

The game was honoured earlier today at the Prison Court in Cantonments in Accra as the first of two matchups in the division.

TUSK capitalized on a strong run in the third quarter to peel away from Juniour Reformers who kept the contest close in the first half.

Match Report

Juniour Reformers trailed Tusk 10-17 after the first quarter. Reformers’ Samuel Kobla delivered a put back dunk to begin the second quarter. A three point play from Tusk Benjamin Ashitei and a tough layup from Julius Benon was Tusk’s response.

Reformers went on an 8-0 run with Randy Larnor scoring three points including a pair of free throws and Martin Asare scoring a three pointer to tie the game at 22 with 5:22 minutes remaining.

Reuben Awenjirim and Ashitei scored four apiece to end Tusk’s scoring drought after a timeout. Obed Yeboah came off the bench and scored a layup for Reformers. Kontor Appiah did same for Tusk to end the first half with Reformers trailing 26-30.

Delali Cofie and Kobla traded huge blocks early in the third quarter. Cofie scored a basket and Emmanuel Larbi completed a three point play after getting fouled on a converted up and under layup.

Appiah scored a three pointer and Cornelius Dogbe slammed the ball in a fast break dunk to give Tusk a 42-31 lead with 2:34 minutes remaining.

Dogbe then hit a three pointer. Joseph Kotei dribbled through traffic to score a layup with Perry Quaye scoring four points for Reformers. Ashitei scored for Tusk to end the quarter 50-37.

Emmanuel Larbi and Larnor scored for Reformers with Ashitei scoring for Tusk to begin the final quarter. Appiah drained a jumper and Dogbe added a three pointer to put Tusk up 58-42 with 6:25 minutes remaining.

Ebenezer Nortey, Appiah and Dogbe scored late points for Tusk. Asare and Duke Quarshie got points on the board for Reformers to end the game 70-54.
