Basketballghana.com can confirm Ghana Center Nathan Mensah has received his second Mountain West Conference title ring.
In a brief ceremony on Sunday, September 19, Mensah and the rest of the San Diego State Men’s University Basketball Team for the 2020-2021 season were honoured with their rings.
This was in recognition of the team winning the Conference title ahead of Utah State to qualify to compete at the National Championship. The Aztecs lost to Syracuse in the first round to exit the national competition.
Last season’s win is San Diego’s second Conference title in a row but the 2019-2020 title had the team miss out on competing at the National level due to the COVID 19 pandemic.
This is Mensah’s second title ring and could end his college career with three rings should San Diego win this season’s title. The 202-2022 season commences on November 9.
Mensah will play in his senior season this upcoming campaign and averaged 8.1 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.4 blocks across 28 games in 21.4 minutes.
