Basketballghana.com can report a new kit is in the works for Nungua Coldstore Basketball Club and the jersey has a special touch to it.
The ClockWork Brand kit has designs honouring former Coldstore Power Forward Gerald Sappor who passed away this past weekend.
On the upper left side of the jersey is an inscription that states “RIP Gerald” and beneath the message is the logo of Nungua Warehouse Group Limited-the parent company of the team.
The strip also has the purple and gold colour themes of NBA side Los Angeles Lakers with “THE STORE” centrally placed at the front of the kit.
Nungua’s new designs aren’t just limited to its playing kit but the warm up shirt also pays tribute to the demised Forward with “#RIPGerald” and “Gerald” inscribed at the back of the shirt.
Sappor helped Coldstore win two Tema Basketball League titles in a row as well as helping University of Ghana win the UPAC title twice and the Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Games Basketball Gold medal in 2018.
