Basketballghana.com can report Ghana Center Amida Brimah has signed a deal to play for Puerto Rican side Mets De Guaynabo after playing in the NBA last season.
Amida suited up for Indiana Pacers in the NBA after competing for the team’s affiliate side in the NBA Gatorade League, the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.
In five games with Indiana, 6 foot 10 inch Brimah averaged 2.6 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in 5.8 minutes. Brimah played on a Two Way contract and was present in Indiana’s Summer League team before he was waived.
Pacers have a clutter at the Power Forward/ Center positions with Myles Turner, Domantas Sabonis, Goga Bitadze and drafted Isaiah Jackson in the 2021 NBA Draft.
Amida’s signing comes at a time when the BSN League is on its All Star Break and the defender is expected to bring athleticism and shot blocking at the Center position to Mets.
The former University of Connecticut player has played out his professional career extensively in the G League and won the 2018 league title during his time at Austin Spurs.
