In the second meeting between Kaneshie SwanLakers and Tudu Galaxy, an intense and exciting game was produced at the Prisons Court in Cantonments in Accra.
The last of three games honoured in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division II, Galaxy held on to halt a furious Kaneshie fight back to clinch a 60-55 win. Tudu won 72-52 in the first meeting.

Galaxy got the game’s first points but Kaneshie Swanlakers Guard Davy Webber responded with four straight points. Bismark Addai scored for Galaxy to tie the game before Swanlakers Bright Assin scored three points by converting one of two free throws and stealing the ball to score on a fastbreak.
John Ntow scored for Galaxy and Divine Quartey hit a three pointer to tie the game at nine with 3:20 minutes remaining. James Okoye hit a three pointer and Assin and Jefta Vanderpuije added more points on the board to restore Kaneshie’s lead via a 16-12 first quarter result.
Kaneshie’s Rodrigue William and Okoye scored to stretch the team’s lead. Galaxy responded by hitting back to back three pointers including one from Futa Muhulis. Rafiq Brimah scored off a neat passing sequence and Emmanuel Atta Badu scored a fastbreak layup to tie the game at 22 with 3:12 left in the first half.
Muhulis got another deep shot to give Galaxy a 27-24 lead but Swanlakers scored late including a tough layup from John Mensah to take a 28-27 first half lead.
Vanderpuije scored after grabbing an offensive rebound in the third quarter and Okoye finished off a brilliant team move. Raymond Affram scored one of two free throws and Ntow scored a pair of layups. Okoye completed a three point play to give Kaneshie a 37-33 lead after 4:52 minutes played.
Galaxy scored one of four free throw attempts and missed out on grabbing the game’s lead. Tudu trailed 40-41 heading to the fourth quarter. The team had a hard time dealing with the bigger Kaneshie team and struggled to contain Kaneshie in the post.
Brimah scored a free throw to tie the game and Kaneshie’s Mensah responded with five points off a corner three pointer and a layup. Swanlakers Guard Abban completed a three point play to turn a one point lead to a four point lead (49-45) with 4:52 minutes remaining.
Ntow scored four straight points including two free throws to give Galaxy a 51-49 lead. Quartey scored two free throws to extend Galaxy’s lead. Brimah scored on a drive to give Galaxy a 55-50 lead with 1:13 left to play. John Mensah buried a late three pointer but Muhulis and Ntow buried three free throws to seal the game.
