Ghanaian-Italian International Small Forward Awudu Abass has pointed out the changed format of the EuroCup makes the competition “unpredictable”.

He said this in an interview reported by PianetaBasket recently during preseason training with his team Virtus Bologna ahead of the 2021-2022 Season.

Bologna will compete in the EuroCup-the second tier continental basketball competition in Europe-in the upcoming season; Abass has prior experience competing in the tournament during his time at Germani Brescia and last season with Bologna.

The 28 year old Forward indicated the competition’s unpredictability is down to the changed format by stating, “The new competition formula is unpredictable. It remains a very important tournament to us, we will have to be even more determined to win the unique races. We will have to be careful, but this is also the beauty of basketball.”

Abass signed a three year deal with Bologna in the offseason after helping the team clinch last season’s Serie A title by sweeping Olimpia Milano in the final. It was Abass’ second league title with the first coming during his time at Milano in 2018.
