After dispatching Cape Verde 75-65 in the semifinals, Tunisia’s National Men’s Basketball Team is on the verge of winning its second AfroBasket title in a row.

The 2021 FIBA African Nations Basketball Championship (AfroBasket) Final is to be played between Tunisia and Ivory Coast at 15:00 GMT at the Kigali Arena in Rwanda.

Tunisia’s 7 foot 2 inch Center Salah Mejri recorded 14 points and six rebounds while Cape Verde’s 7 foot 3 inch Edy Tavares registered 16 points and eight rebounds in the battle of the big men.

However, Mejri got support from teammates Omar Abada, Makram Ben Romdhane and Michael Roll who scored 14, 16 and 14 points respectively in the contest.

The North African nation takes on West African nation Ivory Coast in the final with the Ivorians making their first final appearance since 2009.

Ivory Coast shocked Senegal by beating them 75-65 on the back off Matt Costello’s 17 points and 12 rebounds performance. Senegal plays neighbor Cape Verde to determine the bronze medal winner at 11:30 GMT.
