Basketballghana.com can report Ghana Small Forward/ Power Forward Ben Bentil produced a top performance in his team’s preseason outing.
Bentil led his new side Bahceshir Koleji Istanbul to a 74-62 win over Yukatel Merkesefendi in the Gloria Cup Tournament taking place in Istanbul, Turkey.
Recently acquired from Panathinaikos in the offseason, Bentil impressed with his new team by registering 23 points, nine rebounds and five assists. He missed out on a double double by a rebound.
Bentil moved from Greek side Panathinaikos after a two year run where he won two Greek A1 League titles and the 2020-2021 Greek Basketball Cup.
The game was both team’s second outing in the preseason competition that has two other teams competing; Budivelnik Kiev and Frutti Extra Bursaspor are the other competing teams.
The win is Bahcesehir’s second in a row in the tournament after bagging an 82-57 win over Bursaspor on Thursday, September 2 with Koleji’s American Center Devin Williams producing 16 points and nine rebounds in the win.
This year’s Gloria Cup is the fifth edition in the tournament’s history and commenced on Wednesday, September 1. The competition is scheduled to end on Sunday, September 5.
