Rwanda’s National Men’s Basketball Team is due to play Egypt later today in a friendly or exhibition game later tonight Basketballghana.com can report.
Tonight’s tie is the first of two contests between the two team to be played to round up preparations for the 2021 FIBA AfroBasket; the next friendly takes place on Saturday, August 21.
This year’s AfroBasket runs from August 24 to September 5 with all games to be played at the Kigali Arena. 16 nations have qualified to compete in the tournament.
Rwanda has been engaged in friendly games this past week in Dakar against the Senegal and Guinea as well as selected teams representing the countries.
In games against the main West African nations’ main team, Rwanda lost both heading into the contest against Egypt on its return to Kigali.
Rwanda is in Group A with DR Congo, Cape Verde and 11 time AfroBasket winners Angola while Egypt is in Group B with Tunisia, Guinea and Central African Republic.
