Gbawe Basketball Academy Guard Peter Akroboto has pointed to low energy levels and slow transition defense as the main issues that have cost his team wins in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division II.

He made this statement in an interview with Basketballghana.com after Gbawe lost 41-45 to DUNK Invaders in its latest outing in 2021 Division II season; the game was played out at Prisons Court in Cantonments in Accra. (Click highlighted text to watch full interview)

Gbawe trailed 11-26 at the end of the first half but fought hard in the second half to trail by three points with little over 30 seconds left in the game before ultimately falling by four points.

“I think it was our energy level number one and our transition defense it’s a bit slow on defense and that’s what cost us both games” he said.

Gbawe lost 36-74 to Tudu Galaxy in the previous contest and is yet to pick up a win in the season thus far; Vipers play Kaneshie Swanlakers next on August 17 at the same venue.
