American born Ghanaian Small Forward Bashir Ahmed has completed a move to Romanian side CSM Targu Jiu Basketballghana.com can confirm.
The move was completed earlier this week and the recently turned 28 year old will play his fourth season as a pro in the Balkan country.
He joins a team that recorded six wins and 20 losses and ended the 2020-2021 Regular Season in 12th place in the 14 team league standings and missed the playoffs.
Ahmed averaged 7.4 points and 1.8 rebounds in 17 games in the Hungarian division last season.
6 foot 6 inch Ahmed, is an athletic wing player who excels on defense who has played in the NBA Gatorade League with Sioux Falls Skyforce.
He has also played in the French Pro B, Hungary, Bosnia and Herzegovnia and Kosovo since leaving St. John’s University; he won the Kosovo League title in 2019.
Ahmed starred in the Juniour College ranks where he was named to the National Juniour College Division I All American First Team. He joined St. John’s after his two year run at the Juniour College level.
