Two games in its campaign at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Nigeria’s National Women’s Basketball Team (D’Tigress) is yet to clinch its debut win at the Games.

Earlier today, the West African nation lost 62-87 to France in a Group B matchup at the Group stage of the competition.  USA beat Japan 86-69 in the other Group B game.

After losing 72-81 to defending Olympic Champions USA earlier this week, Nigeria shot the ball poorly against France and had just two player score in double figures.

Ezinne Kalu scored 10 points while Promise Amukamara added 11 points in the contest that had Nigeria convert 22 of 62 field goals (35%). France on the other hand, converted 33 of 66 field goals (50%) to clinch its first win after losing 70-74 to Japan in the previous round of games.

Nigeria drops to fourth in the group and needs a win against Japan and USA to beat France to stand the chance of progressing to the next stage.
