Basketballghana.com can confirm the opening round of games in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) will feature the defending champions.
Ghana Police Service and Braves of Customs are scheduled to compete in the Women’s Division and Men’s Division I respectively on Wednesday, July 28 at the Prisons Court at Cantonments in Accra.
Police takes on University of Ghana at 15:00 GMT before Braves play Tudu Magic at 16:30 GMT in the follow up game to tip the 2021 season off.
The 2020 season was wiped out by the onset of the COVID 19 pandemic and lingering issues on helath safety prevented the campaign from commencing sooner.
However, the league got the all clear to commence after successfully rolling out a COVID 19 Vaccination program that vaccinated all personnel connected to the league to keep them safe from getting infected.
The long than expected delay has forced league officials to adopt a different format to see out the regular season and postseason for the upcoming campaign. (Click highlighted text to view story)
