Basketballghana.com can confirm Ghanaian-Italian International Small Forward/Shooting Guard Awudu Abass will play in the 2021-2022 Serie A Season with Nigerian International Ekpe Udoh.
The veteran Power Forward Udoh recently confirmed his move to Virtus Bologna after spending two seasons in China with Beijing Royal Fighters and Beijing Ducks.
Udoh has been named to Nigeria’s Men’s National Basketball Team (D’Tigers) roster for the Tokyo Olympics where the West African nation will battle Italy, Germany and Australia in Group B.
The latest move marks Udoh’s return to European competition after playing for Fenerbache and won the 2017 EuroLeague title. He was drafted sixth overall in the 2010 NBA Draft by Golden State Warriors.
Abass completed his debut season at Bologna last season and ended up with the Serie A league title after a strong and consistent finish to the campaign.
The title was Abass’ second after bagging the league trophy during his time at Olimpia Milano; Abass recently signed a three year contract extension with Virtus.
