Basketballghana.com can report the 2021 Accra Basketball League (ABL) Season has a start date albeit a tentative one that is to have league games honoured for the first time since 2020.
July 27 has been picked as the potential start date for the league to end a rather long hiatus brought on by the COVID 19 pandemic that forced the cancellation of the 2020 season.

The decision was taken on Saturday, July 17 at the Lebanon House in Tudu when a meeting involving direct stakeholders of the league was held.
Should the league start on the aforementioned date, it would give the League Board the time to honour games and declare a winner; the Basketball Africa League (BAL) qualifiers are scheduled to commence in October. Braves of Customs represented Ghana at the last qualifiers.

The announcement of the start date comes after the league completed a three day COVID 19 vaccination program to ensure the health safety of all involved in the league isn’t jeopardized.

10 teams will compete in the ABL Men’s and Women’s Divisions respectively and 15 teams will compete in the Men’s Division II.
