Rising Ghanaian Small Forward Yusif Basa-Ama has explained his reason for committing to play his College Basketball career at Yale University.

The 6 foot 8 inch play who can play the Power Forward position received eight student-athlete scholarship offers to play basketball from the likes of University of Oklahoma, University of South Florida and Rice University.

However, Basa-Ama picked Yale University ahead of the other offers he received after starring at High School where he averaged 15.3 points, 8.8 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in his senior season.

In his Yale Bio, Basa-Ama stated, “When it came to choosing the college I wanted to attend, the advice I kept getting was do I have a four-year plan or a 40-year plan.”

The man from Bolgatanga in Ghana’s Upper East Region, was named Class 3A Boys Player of the Year Award winner in the State of Florida in the USA as a senior at St. Andrews High School.

Yale University competes in the Ivy League in the College ranks.
