According to Accra Basketball League (ABL) Director Alex Kukula, the League shouldn’t expect any new sponsors but should expect a known body to the league to make a return.
He said this in an exclusive chat with Basketballghana.com during the League’s recently held COVID 19 Vaccination at the Lebanon House in Tudu.
Addressing the subject of sponsorship for the league, Kukula indicated 2019 League sponsor, telecommunication giant MTN, could make a return as his party continues to engage them in the midst of challenging circumstances the COVID pandemic continues to have on the sports industry.
“With the sponsors we are having issues because even our sponsor …they were saying because of COVID, they don’t have a policy where they can put their money in where there is a ban sort of but we are still talking to them. Hopefully we will put them on board but for now I don’t think we should expect any new sponsor apart from our old one” he said. (Click highlighted text to watch full interview)
Ghana is coming out of a ban on participation in contact sports that was in full effect at the height of the pandemic in 2020.
