The COVID 19 vaccination exercise for the Accra Basketball League (ABL) has commenced successfully with several players and officials getting vaccinated.
The three day program is taking place at the Lebanon House in Tudu in Ghana’s capital, Accra and is expected to end on Saturday, July 3.
Players and officials who wish to get vaccinated need to present a valid Ghanaian Identification Card including a passport, driver’s licence or voters ID card to be able to get vaccinated.
The ABL Board released a statement to announce its intent to vaccinate all personnel involved in the league before the 2021 season commences.
This is to ensure the health safety of all personnel during the course of the league and avoid any cases of infections that will disrupt the league. The 2020 season was lost to COVID 19.
The League Board also stated any player who isn’t vaccinated won’t be allowed to compete in the league. Ghana Police Service and Braves of Customs won the 2019 League titles in the Women’s and Men’s Division I respectively.
