Basketballghana.com can confirm eight teams will compete in the 2021-2022 Tema Basketball League (TBL) Season after completing the registration process.
The registration period ended earlier than expected this past week and a complete season schedule is all that is left to clear out by the League’s board before the competition tips off.
Six of the eight registered teams competed in the 2019 campaign and two teams will compete in the upcoming season as debutants; the 2020 season was lost to COVID 19.
2019 League winners Nungua Coldstore, Tema Community 4, Sakumono Titans, Tema Community 2 Hyenas, Spintex Knights and Tema Rockets are the incumbent teams.
Tema Wolves and Tema Community 25 Panthers are the prospective debutants and the teams were confirmed by the league via post on Twitter highlighting the respective team logos. (Click highlighted text to view Tweet)
Thanks to a flurry of player movement in the long offseason especially 2019 Most Valuable Player Joel Tham’s move from Coldstore to Spintex Knights, the upcoming campaign is highly anticipated.
