Angola’s dreams of competing at the Tokyo Olympic Games rests on a must win game later today against Slovenia after losing its opening game of the mini tournament. The game against Slovenia tips off at 13:30 GMT.

The competition is taking place in Kaunsa, Lithuania and Africa’s most successful team faces a tough task today against the Luka Doncic led Slovenia side.
Angola was led by AEK Athens Forward Yannick Moreira who registered 27 points and seven rebounds with Edson Ndoniema the only other Angolan player to score double digits (11 points) in the contest.
Angola dropped a handful of top players mostly from Petro De Luanda from the joining the national team including veteran Guard Carlos Morais; the players were dropped for disciplinary reasons. (Click highlighted text to read story)
Tunisia will compete on Thursday, July 1 against Croatia at 20:00 GMT; Africa’s other competitor Senegal has been ruled out of competing for a place in the Olympics after COVID 19 related issues prevented the team from traveling to Belgrade, Serbia for its qualifiers.
