Former Miami Heat Point Guard Tre Kelley has stated the level of athleticism and less margin for errors in the NBA separates the league from other leagues in the world.
The 14 year Pro Player made this statement in an exclusive chat with Basketballghana.com at the Presbyterian Boys Senior High School (PRESEC-Legon) Basketball Court.
Kelley headlined a basketball clinic at the School’s Court this past weekend where he took participants through drills in the sport and peaking sessions where he counseled them on traits (discipline, perseverance) they need to have to get to the pro level.
Aside his stint with Miami Heat, Kelley has played for clubs in Greece, Turkey, Italy, China and Israel and he pointed to the NBA’s level of athleticism as a major difference from other leagues.
“The athleticism is totally different than any place, the strength and athleticism of each player and the margin of errors is much less. You can’t leave guys open in the NBA on defense, guys play great defense in the NBA. You have got be even more skilled to finish around the rim, to make shots to be successful” he said.
